Description
Chewy, cinnamon-spiced cookies with fresh apple bits and a crunchy red hot topping. A fun twist on classic candy apples.
Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 cup finely diced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
1/3 cup crushed red hots or cinnamon candy
Instructions
Cream butter and both sugars until fluffy.
Add egg and vanilla; mix well.
In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
Gradually add dry mix to the wet ingredients.
Fold in diced apples.
Chill dough for 30 minutes.
Scoop dough balls onto parchment-lined baking sheet.
Sprinkle crushed candies on top of each cookie.
Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden.
Let cool 5 minutes on tray before transferring to rack.
Notes
Use parchment paper to prevent sticking.
Chill dough for best shape and flavor.
Try caramel drizzle or white chocolate topping for variety.
