Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled Use strong brewed coffee for depth of flavor.
  • 3 large eggs Use fresh eggs for the best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 8 oz mascarpone cheese Can substitute with a mix of cream cheese and heavy cream.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Consider coconut cream as a non-dairy alternative.
  • 1 package ladyfingers Look for gluten-free options if needed.
  • Cocoa powder for dusting
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form, then fold it into the mascarpone mixture, taking care not to deflate it.
  4. Dip each ladyfinger briefly into the cooled coffee and layer them in a dish.
  5. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  6. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight; this is key to allowing flavors to meld.
  8. Before serving, dust with cocoa powder for that signature look and taste.

Notes

Tiramisu is best enjoyed within a few days, but it can last up to a week in the fridge. Freezing isn’t recommended as it can change the texture.
