  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
For the Crumble Topping
  • 1 cup oats Crushed nuts can be used instead.
  • 1 cup flour Can be substituted with almond flour for gluten-free.
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted Butter is recommended for best flavor.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with sugar and cinnamon. Place the mixture in a greased baking dish.
Making the Crumble
  1. In another bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, and salt until crumbly.
  2. Spread the crumble mixture over the apples.
Baking
  1. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden and the apples are tender.
  2. Serve warm, optionally with ice cream.

Notes

Store leftovers by covering the dish with plastic wrap or transfer to an airtight container; it will keep in the fridge for up to 5 days. For freezing, assemble unbaked, and bake directly from the freezer, adding extra time.
