Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Mash the ripe bananas thoroughly in a large mixing bowl.
- Add the melted butter to the mashed bananas and mix until smooth.
- Incorporate the sugar until the mixture becomes smooth and lighter in color.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the banana mixture, mixing just until the flour disappears.
- If using, fold in the chopped walnuts or pecans.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 55 to 65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
