Preparation
  1. Preheat a large, heavy-bottomed skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the olive oil to the skillet and heat until shimmering.
Cooking
  1. Place the cherry tomatoes in the skillet in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding.
  2. Cook undisturbed for 1-2 minutes until the skins blister.
  3. Shake the pan gently to turn the tomatoes and cook for another 1-2 minutes for an even char.
Finishing Touch
  1. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and any optional seasonings like garlic or basil.
  2. Toss gently to coat the tomatoes evenly before serving.
