Ingredients

For the Manchurian Balls
  • 1 cup finely chopped cabbage
  • 1/2 cup grated carrots
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onions
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute with gluten-free flour for gluten-free option
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying
For the Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Spring onions for garnishing

Method

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine cabbage, carrots, bell pepper, onions, ginger-garlic paste, green chilies, salt, all-purpose flour, and cornstarch. Mix well to form a dough-like consistency.
  2. Heat oil in a pan for frying. Take small portions of the mixture and shape them into small balls.
  3. Carefully drop the balls into the hot oil and fry until golden brown. Remove them and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Creating the Sauce
  1. In another pan, heat a little oil. Add soy sauce, chili sauce, tomato ketchup, vinegar, and black pepper. Mix well.
  2. Add the fried manchurian balls to the sauce and toss gently to coat.
  3. Garnish with spring onions before serving. Serve hot.

Notes

Ensure the oil is hot enough for frying to maintain crispiness. Can customize vegetables based on available options.
