Preparation
- In a saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil.
- Remove from heat and stir in the flour and baking powder until a dough forms.
- Let the dough cool slightly, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Use a piping bag to pipe small bites of dough onto a piece of parchment paper.
- Lightly spray the churro bites with cooking spray.
Cooking
- Place the bites in the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook for 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
- Immediately toss the churro bites in the cinnamon sugar mixture after removing them from the air fryer.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
For best results, pipe small mounds about 1 inch across. If your air fryer runs hot, check at 7 minutes. Work in batches to avoid crowding the basket. To refresh crispness after storage, air fry at 350°F for 3-4 minutes.
