Ingredients
  

For the experiment
  • 1 unit Clear glass jar
  • Water to fill Water Fill the jar leaving some space at the top.
  • Few tablespoons tablespoons Vegetable oil (or any oil you have on hand) Canola oil or olive oil can also be used.
  • Various drops Food coloring (variety of colors)
  • 1 unit A spoon for mixing

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Fill your clear glass jar with water, leaving some space at the top.
  2. In a separate container, mix a few tablespoons of vegetable oil with several drops of food coloring. The food coloring will not dissolve in the oil.
  3. Slowly pour the colored oil mixture into the jar with water. Watch as the colors begin to swirl and explode like beautiful fireworks.
  4. Take a moment to enjoy this colorful display!

Notes

This experiment is best enjoyed fresh. For a longer-lasting display, try using more food coloring and a significant amount of oil. Always supervise younger children during the experiment.
