Miscellaneous Supplies

  • Baking sheet or pan

Method

Preparation
  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly spray it with cooking spray.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, water, and corn syrup. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely.
  3. Attach a candy thermometer to the pot and boil the mixture without stirring until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
  4. Remove the pot from heat, then carefully split the mixture into separate bowls. Add different food coloring and flavor extracts to each bowl and mix well.
Assembly
  1. Pour the colored mixtures onto the prepared baking sheet and swirl them together for a marbled stunning effect.
  2. Allow to cool completely at room temperature.
  3. Once cooled, break into pieces and serve them up in a colorful container.

Notes

Take your time with the swirling—the more whimsical, the better! If you're new to candy making, wear an apron; sugar can be sticky. Use a deep saucepan to prevent boiling sugar from bubbling over.
