Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice) Choose your favorite cheese
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • Optional: additional vegetables (like green beans or corn) Feel free to include extra veggies

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion, seasoning with salt and pepper. Drain any excess fat.
Layering
  1. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, then half of the cooked ground beef mixture.
  2. Spread one can of cream of mushroom soup over the beef.
  3. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef, and the second can of cream of mushroom soup.
  4. Top with shredded cheese.
Baking
  1. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour.
  2. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  3. Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

Best served with a fresh salad or buttery corn on the side. Can also be enjoyed with hot sauce or sour cream on top.
