- Preheat oven to 350 °F (175 °C) and grease a donut pan.
- Whisk pumpkin puree, eggs, oil, sugars, and vanilla in a large bowl until smooth.
- In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, pumpkin pie spice, and cinnamon.
- Fold dry ingredients into wet until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Spoon or pipe batter into donut molds, filling each about 2/3 full.
- Bake for 12–14 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool before glazing.
- Whisk powdered sugar, orange juice, zest, and food coloring until smooth. Adjust consistency as needed.
- Dip cooled donuts into glaze and place on wire rack to set.
Notes
Use canned pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling. A piping bag makes filling easier. Adjust glaze with more juice (thinner) or sugar (thicker). Add nutmeg or ginger for extra warmth. Kids love adding sprinkles for Halloween fun!
