Ingredients
  

Base Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate
  • 2 tbsp sugar adjust to taste

Spices

  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper optional

Instructions
 

  • In a saucepan, combine milk and heavy cream over medium heat. Stir occasionally until the mixture is warm but not boiling.
  • Add chocolate chips to the saucepan and whisk continuously until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
  • Stir in sugar and spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and cayenne pepper if using). Adjust sweetness according to your preference.
  • Pour the spiced hot chocolate into mugs and serve immediately. Garnish with whipped cream or marshmallows if desired.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different spices or add-ins like vanilla extract or a pinch of sea salt for extra flavor. This recipe can also be adapted for dairy-free options by using plant-based milk and chocolate.
