Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- If using puff pastry, allow it to thaw according to package instructions. Roll it out into a rectangle on a floured surface.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, sliced jalapenos, and garlic powder. Mix until well blended.
- Cut the rolled pastry or pizza dough into strips about 1 inch wide.
Assembly
- Place a heaping spoonful of the cheese mixture on the edge of each strip, then fold the dough over and twist it a few times to seal it. Repeat for all strips.
- Place the twists on the prepared baking sheet and brush them with the egg wash or milk.
Cooking
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and puffed.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
These twists are great on their own or served with a dipping sauce like ranch, sour cream, or salsa. They can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or frozen for up to a month.
