Preparation
  1. Gather granulated sugar, white distilled vinegar, food colorings, small mixing bowls or cups, spoons, and a measuring cup.
  2. In each small bowl, place about 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar. Add 1 tablespoon of white distilled vinegar and stir until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Optionally warm the mixture in the microwave for 10-15 seconds, then add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl and stir well.
  4. Pour a base layer of white distilled vinegar into your clear container, filling it about a third of the way.
  5. Carefully drizzle the colored sugar-vinegar solutions into the vinegar layer using a spoon or dropper.
  6. Experiment with different colors and drizzle heights to watch the reactions occur.

Notes

These are best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored in a sealed container in the fridge for 1-2 days. The visual effects may diminish over time. For more excitement, consider pairing with simple snacks.
