Crust Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups crushed vanilla wafers Substitute with crushed graham crackers or digestive biscuits if needed.
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted Brown the butter for a richer flavor if desired.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed vanilla wafers and granulated sugar.
  3. Add the melted butter and mix until well combined.
  4. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9-inch pie pan.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes or until lightly golden.
  6. Allow to cool before filling.

Notes

Make sure to press the mixture really well into the pan to create a sturdy crust. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days, or freeze for up to a month.
