Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions and set aside.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté chopped onions and garlic until translucent.
- Add ground beef or sausage and cook until browned.
- Stir in Bolognese sauce and simmer for about 20 minutes.
Assembly
- In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, eggs, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- In a baking dish, spread a layer of Bolognese sauce, followed by noodles, then ricotta mixture, and a layer of mozzarella.
- Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with mozzarella on top.
Baking
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake an additional 15-20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
- Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
Notes
If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. You can also freeze in slices for up to three months and reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C).
